The Minnesota Wild Nets A Point for Fan Safety With Evolv Technology Partnership
Evolv Technology, a leading security technology company pioneering AI-based screening designed to create safer experiences, is entering its second year in its partnership with the Minnesota Wild. The Wild will open this NHL season using Evolv’s state-of-the-art Evolv Express® screening solution at all gates at Xcel Energy Center.
Evolv adds Xcel Energy Center to a lengthy list of professional sports facilities using Express, including NHL teams at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, home of the NHL Predators, and Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, which serves as the home arena for the NHL’s Philadelphia Flyers.
Evolv Express is designed to screen visitors effectively while helping minimize congestion and disruptions to traffic flow at ingress points. The Wild has Express systems located at all gates to Xcel Energy Center. Fans are screened more quickly with Express than with the metal detectors the arena previously used, allowing for an enhanced customer service experience.
“Building on the success within the National Hockey League of creating a superior fan experience, we knew Evolv was the ideal solution for us as well,” said Rachael Johnson, Senior Director of Guest Experience and Security for the Wild.
Xcel Energy Center can seat roughly 18,000 fans for hockey matches, and up to 20,000 guests for other events it hosts, which in 2025 will include the IIHF World Junior Championship, Minnesota High School League state championships, and concerts.
"We're pleased to have the Wild join the list of our key customers in Minnesota," said John Baier, Evolv's Vice President of Sports. "We're confident that a quick and convenient venue entry experience will continue to be a hit with sports fans in the Twin Cities and beyond. Evolv's combination of safety and elevated fan experience is rapidly gaining traction in the NHL, and we welcome the Wild to our growing roster of customers in the major North American sports leagues and conferences."
