Xcel Energy Center Prepared to Safely Welcome Back Fans
Fans will be welcomed back to Minnesota Wild games in a limited capacity starting on Monday, April 5 when the team takes on the Colorado Avalanche at 7 p.m. The arena will seat 15% of capacity, or 3,000 fans, for the game.
"The highest priority with welcoming back guests to the facility has always been the health and safety of our fans and staff," said Xcel Energy Center Vice President and General Manager Jack Larson. "Every effort has been made to provide a safe, clean and sanitized environment, and we are ready."
In order to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, fans are encouraged to check out Xcel Energy Center's robust Health and Safety Guidelines and Information area on the venue's website. It outlines guidelines around safety protocol awareness, health screenings, face coverings, bag policies, cleaning and sanitizing, digital ticketing, innovative technology and more.
The venue released a safety video today highlighting some of the innovative technology described below:
- Ecolab touchless hand sanitizer stations are located at over 500 key locations in the arena.
- Surfaces throughout the arena are treated by Microbe Armour with MicrobeCare™, a fast-acting antimicrobial that permanently bonds to nearly any surface to create a long-lasting, invisible barrier of protection against viruses & bacteria, including human coronavirus.
- Xcel Energy Center's upgraded HVAC system provides improved air filtration systems and overall air quality.
- Escalator handrails have been retrofitted with KONE Handrail Sterilizer that uses a UV sterilization module to continuously eliminate harmful bacteria.
- Convenient and contactless concession and Wild gear purchases can be made through self-serve kiosks, the NHL mobile app, QR code-enabled mobile wallets or at Clover® point-of-sale devices located throughout the arena. These new payment experiences are enabled by point-of-sale partner Bypass, now part of Fiserv.
- Digital tickets are protected by Ticketmaster’s SafeTix™ technology. SafeTix™ continually generates a new and unique barcode that automatically refreshes every few seconds so the barcode cannot be stolen or copied, keeping your tickets safe and secure.
The crowd at Monday's game will consist mainly of Minnesota Wild season ticket members. In addition, a select group of front line workers will also be welcomed as special guests to the game.
